After receiving input from MCPSS employees and hosting a public hearing, the Mobile County Board of School Commissioners approved the calendar for the 2026-27 school year.
School will start on August 10, and end on May 26.
Student/teacher holidays will be as follows:
September 7 – Labor Day
November 11 – Veterans Day
November 23-27 – Thanksgiving
December 21-January 1, 2027 – Winter Break
January 18 – Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., Day
February 8-12 – Mardi Gras Break
March 29-April 2 – Spring Break
Teachers have the following days for planning/staff development. (No school for students):
August 3-7
October 12-13
January 4
March 22
May 27-28
Students will have virtual days on
September 28
November 3 (Election Day)
Additional holidays for MCPSS employees are:
July 2, 2026 – Independence Day
May 31, 2027 – Memorial Day
June 17, 2027 – Juneteenth
Second quarter begins on October 14; third quarter on January 5; and fourth quarter on March 23.
